Board evaluation combines material scoring, piece-square tables, and checkmate heuristics. Heavy computations run asynchronously using Web Workers, keeping the UI responsive. I just graduated with a degree in information technology, and now I\u0026rsquo;ve started a PhD at IDLab (Ghent University, imec), as part of the DISCOVER team. My research focuses on AI security in software supply chains. In practice, that means I spend my days thinking about all the ways AI systems can fail before they\u0026rsquo;re even deployed, and then trying to convince people that they should actually care.\nAs part of my PhD, I also contribute to the European project CRACY, which helps SMEs comply with the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). On top of that, I design and supervise master thesis topics for students and occasionally help out with campus workshops.\nOutside of academia, I spend my time exploring a mix of technical and creative hobbies. I enjoy self-hosting a server, experimenting with new technologies, producing music, cooking, travelling, and staying active in the gym.
