About me

Hey, I’m Wiebe. I just graduated with a degree in information technology, and now I’ve started a PhD at IDLab (Ghent University, imec), as part of the DISCOVER team. My research focuses on AI security in software supply chains. In practice, that means I spend my days thinking about all the ways AI systems can fail before they’re even deployed, and then trying to convince people that they should actually care.

As part of my PhD, I also contribute to the European project CRACY, which helps SMEs comply with the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). On top of that, I design and supervise master thesis topics for students and occasionally help out with campus workshops.

Outside of academia, I spend my time exploring a mix of technical and creative hobbies. I enjoy self-hosting a server, experimenting with new technologies, producing music, cooking, travelling, and staying active in the gym. If something catches my interest, there’s a good chance I’ll spend far too much time learning about it.
